Summary: I had an amazing time in Tortuga and Kenson and his family did all to make it the time of my lie. Let's take some things before I tell you about Tortuga. We are talking about Haiti here.
It is a poor country, so don't expect luxury, resorts, drinks, busses everywhere etc. This is a country for adventures, but it is a country that deserves every minute you spend in it. You will not regret it. I flew into Cap Haitien with this room booked. Kenson had already set me up with basically everything.
A contact person incl. He immidiately answered all my mails and questions. So communication was extraordinary.
So I took a pick-up and a mototaxi to Port-de-Paix. Not an easy journey, but doable. Just ask around, people are amazingly helpful. In Port-de-Paix, it was a bit tricky to find the place and the contact, but I got help from a local. So it all went well and in the evening I was sitting on a boat to Tortuga.
There, I was brought to the house and the boys went out to get me some food. The room was nothing special, but I didn't expect anything else. Thats what I booked. It was clean, quiet, comfortable bed. All I need. The next day, Kensons cousins took me around the island. We visited many sites, walked a bit, talked to locals, went to a cave, a beach, had a boat trip and so on.
